Uganda Poultry Farm Project

29 Aug 2024, by Guest Speaker in Newsletter

A Report from the SDB Missionary Society

The Uganda Poultry Farm project is on the verge of completing its second phase. The construction of the well has been completed and they hit water.

Training will be completed soon and then the chicks will be purchased and the hard work of rearing them to maturity will begin!

Here is a summary of what has been accomplished:

  • A board of directors was established.
  • A bank account was opened to facilitate its financial operations.
  • Two computers were purchased and computer training provided for the secretary and treasurer
    of the board.
  • The property was
purchased and the title transferred into the name of the organization.
  • Two poultry houses were constructed.
  • Electricity was installed.
  • Some training on poultry farming was provided for the board of directors.

The SDB Missionary Society expressed gratitude for the partners on this project, Children’s World Impact, for their significant investment of resources, time and energy. Mike Hoffman has been working on behalf of Children’s World Impact.  The Project is nearing the point when the actual business of rearing and selling chickens and eggs will be taking place, to the benefit of many families within our Uganda SDB community and beyond.

Please continue to pray for the successful completion of the project, that all the necessary funding will be forthcoming, and that the actual farming will be profitable.

Praise the Lord for His good work!
