In the midst of trials, it is tempting to take the easy way out by watering down the truth of the gospel message. Faithful believers prove themselves to be trustworthy messengers by holding onto the full weight and consequence of the gospel. It would be easy to dwell on the past and fail to recognize that God is actively doing work in this church and moving us forward into his next plans for us. Past victories or failures can blind us to God’s present work. Sometimes we cling to the old so tightly that we miss the new thing God is doing, but God is not finished with us yet! Pastor Liz Green
