Summer Lunch Bunch – Feeding Kids in Our Community
29 May 2024, by Newsletter inMilton area children who depend on school lunches will not go hungry when school is out for the summer. Several local churches, led by Hope Lutheran Church, have been meeting to plan and fundraise for this important summer program. Our church will once again be joining this effort to prepare and distribute lunches. We have already made a financial donation to help cover the cost of the food for the week we will serve. This simple act of service and love helps to shine the light of Jesus throughout our community as we consider the needs of those around us.
As you make your summer plans, consider helping with the Summer Lunch Bunch. July 22-July 25 is our church’s week to feed the children. Lunches will be prepared in our kitchen at about 9:30 a.m. and distributed from 11:45-12:15 at 2 locations: Goodrich Park (right across the street) and Milton United Methodist Church. We will need 5 people each day to prepare the meals and 4 to help
pass them out. If you have the mornings free in the summer, please consider signing up to help. Please note that this is Conference week, so if you’re not going to Conference, we could really use you.
The sign up sheet will be placed in the Welcome Center in late June. If you’d like to volunteer before that or if you have questions, contact Angie Mullen 608-295-6484 or asmullen92@gmail.com
