Prayer Focus for April – Loving and Serving Our Neighbors

30 Mar 2021, by Renee Sanford in Newsletter

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength… Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (from Mark 12:30-31)

In our Grow Group, we were challenged by Andy Stanley to ask “What does love require of me?” Well, one thing (see the scripture above) is that God requires us to love our neighbors.

In the sermon series on Joseph, Pastor Nate called us to gladly serve.

Now that it’s spring, we can get out and about more. So for our April prayer focus, let’s ask God to show us ways to love and serve our neighbors. Bless Every Home has an app that will help you get to know them and guide you in praying for them

LORD, help us know our neighbors – their names, their interests, their needs.

  • Make us good neighbors to everyone that we meet. Let us see the best in them and desire the best for them.
  • Remind us that everyone we meet is precious in your sight made in your image.
  • Help us notice, love and welcome our neighbors into our lives.
  • Show us ways to bless our neighbors – through our prayers, our conversation and our actions.
  • Let us seek peace with those we live near – give us grace to bear with any discord. Send your Spirit to guide us in reconciliation.
  • Make us faithful in praying for our neighbors.
  • Open the doors for spiritual conversations with our neighbors – guide us in asking questions and listening to our neighbors.
  • Give us opportunities and boldness to share how we are experiencing the goodness of God.
  • Show us where you are at work in the hearts and lives of our neighbors, so we can come alongside and connect them to Jesus – helping God change their lives.
  • Let us be salt and light in our neighborhoods.
  • May you be glorified in our relationships with our neighbors.
