Mission, Vision and Values

29 Apr 2024, by John Pethtel in Newsletter

Stewardship should be driven by the mission, vision, and values of our congregation. “We connect people to Jesus and equip them to be his disciples.”

You can find the mission, vision, and values in the welcome center and in the bulletin each week. It is our local church’s take on the Great Commission given in Matthew 28.

There are mundane aspects of our church’s mission such as buildings, cleaning supplies, salaries, water fountains, and more that help our church equip disciples but may not seem important to that
aspect.

It is a blessing to have a space for children to meet Jesus on Wednesday nights or for the community to use during the week or for us to gather in worship on Saturday. We should be thankful for the stewardship that we have over the facilities and for those who care for it and fill it.

However, the blessing of a swept floor or a newly painted wall or a replaced light bulb or a new bathroom cannot be actualized without the financial resources to make them happen.

What that means is that the financial health of the church is a key component to helping to accomplish the mission, vision, and values of the church. Your regular and even increased giving is a way for us to make sure that a Bible verse is memorized by a 10 year old or that a pizza goes into the hungry mouth of a teenager after Bible study or that a senior citizen is able to access a bathroom or that the person who can’t physically come to the Saturday worship service can watch it online.

How will you do your part to continue the mission, vision, and values of The Connecting Church for years to come?

“We connect people to Jesus and equip them to be his disciples.”
