June was a month at home!

I got to spend time with family & friends as well as going on a couple of road trips, including going to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky. From left to right in the picture is me, my mom, dad, sister-in-law Naomi, and Nathaniel.

I got to spend extra time at home because 5 days before I was to return to Spain, they changed their Covid test requirements. But with prayer and patience, I got back to Barcelona.

July was back to Spain and Skate Outreach!

Barcelona Thrash:

July 10 to 25th I facilitated a skate program focused on community and discipleship. Usually our programs are 5-6 months long. This shorter program was aimed at students who couldn’t get that much time off.

We had 6 staff and 4 students – a very diverse group: JP (Canada), Gustavo (Mexico), Mirjam (Denmark), David (Germany), Aquila (Hawaii), Ezra (Netherlands), Josh (Kentucky), Aaron (Honduras), Davíd (Switzerland) and me.

Ezra had come to Thrash with an injury he got a few weeks prior.  He mentioned how it was a bummer that his ankle was hurt because it hindered him from skating a lot. I offered to pray for his ankle and he consented.

After prayer, his face lit up. He moved his ankle around and said “There’s almost no pain!” He said if the pain was at 100% before, now it was only 30%! He was really encouraged because he’d only heard about people getting healed but now it was something personal.

I think it was a sick way for God to reveal Himself to him.

As you can see from the pictures, it wasn’t all skating! We had deep conversations, prayer and sharing of our stories and the gospel. We’ll continue in the discipleship process with the students over the next year through video calls/voice chats.

Davíd, Aaron, and Ezra all really want to do a full six month Calling All Skaters Discipleship Training School. At the moment there’s no one willing to take on the role as a leader. Please pray for God to provide someone.

What’s coming up:

From September through December I will be helping coach students in their art practice and walk with God. It will be primarily online because of the travel restrictions, with one week in person in November in Baltimore(!) and Barcelona. I’ll be in the Barcelona group.

We have 22 staff from 6 continents. It will be a multicultural art extravaganza of learning new skills and growing closer to God.

• Praise the LORD for a great trip to the states – and getting back to Spain
• Glory to God – Barcelona Thrash more than met its purpose!
• Please be praying for this next season of discipleship with these great people:
• Aaron, Ezra, Davíd & David – a hunger to seek more and more after God
• Gustavo, Mirjam, Josh, Aquila, JP & me – continued willingness to pour into these students
• Someone to lead the next Calling All Skaters Discipleship Training School
• Clarity and vision for the future – for YWAM Barcelona and for me
