Awana Wraps Up with Awards Night
29 May 2024, by Newsletter inThe 2023-24 Awana Year ended in an evening of celebration on May 1st. The sanctuary was filled with clubbers, their families, and leaders as we honored each child and the work they did to learn more about God and hide His Word in their hearts. Following the awards program, we all headed over to North Goodrich Park to enjoy some shaved ice and play on this gorgeous evening.
Each year we honor children earning 2 special awards. Our 2nd grade Sparks who have completed all 3 Sparks books earn the Sparky Award. This year our Sparky Award winners were Maddox Hess, Caedmon Kersten, Sydney Rotzoll, Evie Sonntag, and Lillian Holbrook.
We also honor any 6th graders who have completed all 4 T&T handbooks. This requires an extra amount of personal commitment. T&Ters must complete 4 review sections on their own. This requires both written work and reciting all verses for the unit to their leader in order to complete their handbook each year. Lainey Smerud was our Timothy Award winner this year.
We are so thankful for each of our Awana families who made the commitment to bring their children here each Wednesday night. We are honored to partner with them to teach their children to know, love, and serve our Lord Jesus. We are also thankful for each of the 25 Awana staff members who gave their time, talents, and love to these children.
Please pray for these children to continue to grow spiritually this summer and for the plans for the 2024-25 Awana year. We can’t wait to see what God will do in September through Awana!
