2020 Update from Nathaniel Muench

27 Jan 2021, by Guest Speaker in Newsletter, Outreach

on mission to sports community in Germany

2020 has been a bit wild for all of us. Yet I’ve seen God and his hand in so many ways. In light of eternity, he holds everything under his power and control.

New lock down measures here started November first. So Naomi and I settled into married life and lockdown life. They closed down the skate parks and limited the amount of people you could meet with to one other household. I was able to skate quite a bit with my neighbor and a small crew of guys which was good fun.

December 10th all the stores closed down except drug stores, pharmacies and super-markets so the Christmas hustle and bustle was a bit less. Christmas was small but still nice and special. Naomi is working on her post-graduate degree. We’re trying to plan our family and friends wed-ding celebration amid all the uncertainty.

December we also started a leadership skate ministry training group. We are going through The Master Plan of Evangelism by Robert Emer-son Coleman. It’s really cool being able to do in depth training with three solid Christian skaters. We are structuring and praying through a team vision. We are rethinking the way that we do ministry to really focus on disciple making and reaching the core skate and art scenes.

Right now, we are looking on starting a proper new team with structure, goals and a together vision. It’s a big step and for this I am thankful for the lockdown and winter because un-der normal circumstances it would be harder to find the time to meet together and in-vest in getting this dream off the ground.

There’s potential changes in my role in SRS (the German sports outreach ministry pro-gram I work with). The options are exciting and may be an aswer to prayers. We are seek-ing wisdom in reaching the right decision.

Things to pray about:

  • The skate ministry leadership group
  • Naomi and my married life
  • Financial support
  • My permanent residence (German green card) process.
    • We submitted all the papers and now it’s a waiting game–and with corona a different kind of wait.
  • Roles and responsibilities at SRS – planning for 2021

Lots of love! And once again and as always thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers, love and support!!
