Heritage: something transmitted by or acquired from a predecessor; legacy, inheritance.
Our church family has a wonderful heritage…
When the news media tries to scoop its competition it basically wants a story that nobody else has. If they get the scoop they can underscore their namesake with the claim that what they are publishing is new. Nobody wants to read or see olds. Everyone wants to know the news.
I love eating together as a family. It is one of the parts of family life that I love the most. The sharing that happens around the table has been rich and full of joy for the Crandalls. The other day we were eating together when something struck us funny. It was one of those times when we could not stop laughing. Wow, do I love it when that happens!
The Creator of the heavens and the earth reveals Himself to His creation. He is not silent. He speaks. He shows. He demonstrates. He opens up our understanding of His character and His nature. When Jesus said that He was the light of the world, He meant that He came to reveal truth.
When I was seven years old my family moved to Janesville, WI and began attending church regularly at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church. Although I had a hard time staying awake during the sermon most weeks, I enjoyed going to church and Sabbath School and I loved to read stories from the Bible. As a kid I would read from the Bible all the time.
For the past several years I have sensed the Lord show me a word in January that provides vision for what He is accomplishing in our church family in the coming year. This past year it was Family. I felt that God was bringing us together as a family in Christ.
